Position Summary
Hongene Biotech Corporation is seeking a hands-on Operations Specialist to join the Operations Department and provide on-site operational support for laboratory and facility activities.
This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a strong focus on day-to-day execution, including material handling, inventory, logistics support, and coordination of routine operational activities. The role involves regular on-site work and close collaboration with lab, operations, and facilities-related teams.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site Operations & Inventory Support
- Support daily on-site operational activities within the laboratory and operations areas
- Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy, label as needed, and distribute to internal teams
- Maintain inventory accuracy through physical counts, organization, and system updates
- Support material movement, storage, and organization within designated areas
Procurement & Logistics Support
- Assist with purchasing and procurement of direct materials and operational supplies
- Support domestic and international logistics activities, including shipment coordination and deliveries
- Perform local pick-ups or drop-offs related to operational needs
Facilities, Safety & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate routine chemical waste disposal with licensed vendors in accordance with company SOPs
- Track and support preventive maintenance activities for laboratory and facility-related equipment
- Communicate with external vendors regarding scheduling, deliveries, and service follow-ups
Administrative & Operational Tasks
- Complete required documentation related to inventory, logistics, and vendor services
- Provide general operational support to the Operations Department as needed
- Assist with maintaining organized records and on-site operational documentation
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on operational experience
- 1–3 years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, laboratory operations, or a related operational environment
- Comfortable performing on-site, hands-on work in a laboratory or operations setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and established processes
- Basic proficiency with computers and common tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English with the ability to communicate clearly with vendors and internal teams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive locally
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with inventory or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite)
- Familiarity with laboratory materials, consumables, or chemical handling environments
- Experience using ChemDraw or similar scientific software
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese
Physical & Work Requirements
- This role requires regular on-site presence
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting packages up to 25 kg
- Ability to move materials, organize storage areas, and support operational setup activities
