About the Role
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, execution, and completion of HVAC and Plumbing construction projects. This role ensures projects meet budget, schedule, and quality standards, while collaborating with project staff, vendors, and design teams. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and effective project coordination, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project staff to develop strategic action plans, including material, labor, and resource cost estimates.
- Assist in preconstruction activities to ensure project scope is accurately represented.
- Coordinate construction schedules, ensure equipment and materials are on-site, and facilitate smooth workflow.
- Identify and resolve obstacles to maintain project progress and meet milestones.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, submittals, procurement logs, and quotes, keeping all team members informed.
- Supervise project progress, monitor costs vs. estimates, and report variances.
- Collaborate with design teams to modify plans and recommend materials, equipment, and construction practices.
- Analyze systems and processes to identify efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
- Prepare progress and cost reports, maintain accurate project documentation, and ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
- Uphold ethical standards and represent Air Controls positively in all project activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project and company objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong budgeting and cost management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and prioritize multiple teams or tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, and Procore is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and effective multitasking.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- 25 years of experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing project engineering or mechanical systems design/construction.
- Field experience in HVAC or Plumbing installation, fabrication, or project execution is a plus.
