We are partnering with a large enterprise retail organization to hire an Application Support Specialist to support a business critical assortment and planning application used by merchandising teams. In this role, you will work closely with end users, product teams, and technology partners to ensure application stability, performance, and a high level of service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, collaboration, and supporting systems that directly impact business operations. Job Description
The Application Support Specialist will provide daily technical and functional support for a merchandising application used across a complex retail environment. You will manage incidents, resolve issues, and help ensure service level commitments are met while contributing to continuous improvement of support processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide daily support for an assortment planning application, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application and user issues, escalating when appropriate
- Manage incidents and service requests through a ticketing system while meeting service level expectations
- Partner with product, engineering, and infrastructure teams to resolve defects and deploy fixes
- Perform root cause analysis and document resolutions and preventive actions
- Maintain application documentation, runbooks, and support procedures
- Assist with user onboarding, access management, and basic training as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Two or more years of experience in application support, production support, IT support, or a related role
- Experience working with ticketing systems such as Atlassian Jira and Service now
- Experience supporting enterprise or business critical applications
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non technical users
- Experience supporting merchandising, supply chain, or related business domains
- Customer focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple issues in a fast paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience supporting SaaS or web based applications
- Experience working in large scale enterprise or retail environments
- Exposure to product management concepts or close collaboration with product teams
- Experience using ServiceNow for incident or service request management
