Role Description The Outpatient Therapist Remote role is a per diem position based in Syracuse, NY. The therapist builds their own schedule, with no maximum or minimum hours, and selects clients based on their expertise or comfort level. Supervision is provided and access to a supervisor is provided around the clock. \n

\nthe therapist provides individual psychotherapy to clients with a range of mental health concerns, using clinically appropriate interventions and evidence-informed modalities. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and community resources. The role also involves case management activities such as referrals, follow-up, and collaboration with external supports, while adhering to ethical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and organizational policies. The therapist participates in team meetings, clinical consultation, and ongoing professional development to ensure high-quality, client-centered care.\n

Qualifications
\n

Demonstrated skills in Treatment Planning and Case Management to assess needs, set goals, and coordinate services effectively.

Experience in Social Work practice, including advocacy, resource linkage, and support for clients across diverse social and cultural contexts.

Competence in Family Therapy approaches to address relational dynamics and support systems in treatment.

Strong foundation in Psychology, including knowledge of diagnostic criteria, therapeutic modalities, and evidence-informed interventions.

Relevant licensure or eligibility (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of New York.

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related mental health field.

Ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and use electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

Strong communication, boundaries, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and non-discriminatory care; experience working with diverse populations is highly valued.

Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including providing telehealth services in compliance with privacy and security standards.
