Position Summary:
The Strategy and Analytics team at Red Oak is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to lead a wide variety of analytical projects that promote long-term innovation and help evangelize solutions and new technology to the broader organization. The position will work cross functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into problems to be solved using statistical modelling, machine learning, data visualization and process automation. The role will also serve as Red Oak’s data science subject matter expert, guiding and training other analytics professionals to adopt Python based analytical solutions for data collection, web-scraping, data transformation, visualization and modelling.
Responsibilities:
Analytics
- Analyze and interpret large volumes of structured and unstructured data to address complex business challenges
- Develop and maintain datasets and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data, facilitating insight generation and reporting needs
- Design statistical models and supply-chain KPIs to aid rapid and effective decision making
- Define and monitor model performance metrics, ensuring alignment with business impact over time
- Research and integrate new technologies to enhance existing solutions and address emerging challenges
Communication and Collaboration
- Support change-management efforts to help the company adopt new data science approaches to decision making
- Communicate complex concepts to all levels of the organization (who have a wide range of backgrounds) clearly and effectively
- Design dashboards and visualizations that clearly convey necessary information to the audience
- Act as a data science thought leader in the organization, by staying current on technologies, methods, and tools
Internal Consulting & Executive Presentations
- Conduct research across the business functions to understand the Red Oak business and the generic pharmaceutical industry
- Create presentations related to your work with graphical representation of data, and messaging tailored to executive level audience
- Understand product and market changes and implications for Red Oak’s strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience in operations research, statistics or other data science related roles
- A graduate degree in a quantitative field like data science, applied analytics, operation research, mathematics, engineering, etc. strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Python and common data science analytics packages (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, sklearn, pytorch etc.)
- Experience working with large datasets, analyzing data, and extracting meaningful insights
- Experience using applied statistics and machine learning techniques, including supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning
- Knowledge of or experience in causal inference, and machine learning algorithms
- Experience querying databases with SQL and a strong understanding of relational databases
- Skilled in at least one visualization tool (like Tableau) with and an ability to design impactful visuals
- Ability to work and communicate with variety of stakeholders, particularly senior executives
- Experience with web scraping
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and attention to detail
- An obsession with learning, problem solving and teaching
The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $67,000.00 - $108,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a Red Oak bonus in addition to the base pay range listed above.
