Job Summary:
The Resident Assistant (RA) provides essential care and support to residents in a manner that promotes dignity, comfort, and independence. The RA assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors resident well-being, and ensures a safe and supportive environment in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility

Provide companionship and emotional support

Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to nursing staff

Support residents with meal assistance and hydration
-
Assist with light housekeeping and room organization to maintain a clean environment

Promote resident safety through proper use of equipment and fall prevention techniques

Escort residents to activities and appointments as needed

Follow individualized care plans and document services provided

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED preferred
-
Previous experience in caregiving or assisted living preferred, but not required

Ability to work compassionately with older adults
-
Basic knowledge of infection control and resident rights
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
