Location: Washington D.C
Pay: $44.68 - $46.02 / year

We're looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at one of the Washington, DC area's most iconic luxury residential communities. This is an opportunity to work in a beautiful, historic property while growing your career with an organization known for investing in its people, properties, and long-term success.
As the Lead Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the property's systems, appearance, and overall resident experience. Working closely with the Director of Engineering, you'll oversee daily maintenance operations, troubleshoot building issues, mentor team members, and help ensure the community remains a premier place to live.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee repairs and maintenance of building systems
- Diagnose and repair split-system heat pumps and HVAC equipment
- Complete plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance tasks
- Lead, train, and support engineering team members
- Respond to resident service requests with professionalism and urgency
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs and property inspections
- Support emergency response and after-hours maintenance needs when required
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering, building maintenance, or facilities experience
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across multiple trades
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or training team members
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and safely move appliances and equipment
- Comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet
Preferred Experience
- Multifamily residential, luxury apartment, hotel, or hospitality maintenance experience
- HVAC troubleshooting and repair expertise
- Experience working in occupied residential communities

Schedule
This property operates 24/7. Flexibility is required, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency response coverage as needed. Standard Week: M-F 9-5pm
