Job DescriptionJob Title: Seed Technician Job Description
As a Seed Technician, you will assist in a variety of agricultural activities including planting, pollinating, harvesting, threshing, shipping, weeding, and field preparation. This role involves operating equipment such as tractors, combines, or harvesters, and requires physical activity primarily outdoors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planting, pollinating, harvesting, threshing, shipping, and weeding activities.
- Prepare fields and seeds, including sampling and detasseling.
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors, combines, and harvesters.
- Maintain and improve farm assets.
- Support the safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attending safety meetings.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Ability to lift weights over 25 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
- Capability to handle repetitive tasks and perform duties at waist level and below.
- Proficiency in reading and writing to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and site safety requirements.
- Ability to work as a team member and take direction from supervisors and managers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar field.
- Experience in packaging is advantageous.

Work Environment
The majority of work will be conducted outdoors, exposing you to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and sun. You will encounter uneven walking surfaces, mud, and insects. Extended hours or shift work may be required during peak seasons. Equipment necessary for the job will be provided, ensuring you have the tools needed for success.
This is a 10 week contract through the end of October. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
