A boutique law firm in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join its team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role supports attorneys handling complex litigation, including securities and antitrust class actions, and requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with state and federal e-filing, proficiency in NetDocs, and advanced skills in formatting pleadings, TOAs/TOCs, and discovery documents. The position offers a hybrid schedule with three set onsite days per week (Tuesday through Thursday). This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation secretary seeking a stable, long-term role with hybrid flexibility at a well-respected firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys
- Prepare, revise, and format a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, TOAs/TOCs, discovery materials, and correspondence
- File documents electronically in federal and state courts (including ECF and PACER)
- Manage complex case calendars, deadlines, and docketing requirements
- Coordinate attorney travel arrangements, meetings, and conference calls
- Handle time entry, billing, expense reports, and other administrative tasks
- Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of legal secretary experience, ideally supporting complex litigation matters
- Strong knowledge of federal and California state court rules and e-filing procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems (NetDocs strongly preferred)
- Experience with e-filing systems and litigation support tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
