Make an impact in students' lives as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school learners in a Life Skills program for the 2026–2027 school year in the Henniker, NH area. In this engaging, contract-based role, you will foster a supportive and inclusive environment tailored to diverse learning needs.
Exceptional candidates will have direct experience leading Life Skills classrooms at the high school level, but all certified Special Education Teachers are strongly encouraged to apply!
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and functional goal setting
- Prior experience in a high school special education setting is highly desirable
- Experience working with paraprofessionals or classroom assistants preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive, adaptive classroom environment within a High School Life Skills program
- Effectively supervise and direct classroom paraprofessionals to maximize student support
- Develop, update, and maintain IEPs and ensure compliance with educational regulations
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans and progress monitoring systems
- Support post-secondary transition planning and functional goal achievement for students
- Collaborate with fellow educators, families, and district staff to ensure student growth and success
