About the Camp
Camp Pennyroyal is a 180-acre traditional overnight camp 15 miles south of Owensboro, KY, featuring an 8-acre lake, year-round buildings, platform tents, screened cabins, and primitive sites. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, archery, and a teams course. The camp serves Girl Scouts entering grades 4–12 with up to 70 campers per session, led by paid staff and volunteers.
About the Role
Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana is seeking a full-time Camp Nurse (Health Supervisor) to manage all health services at camp. This role provides daily, weekly, and on-call care; first aid; mental, emotional, and social health support; and full medication management. The ideal candidate helps build a healthy, supportive camp culture for campers, staff, and volunteers. APPLY TODAY!

Staff receive room, board, and most meals, along with a supportive community environment. Seasonal salary is $4,361. Camp runs May 22–July 14.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily/weekly health screenings;
• Administer and document medication;
• Advise staff on camper health needs; use CampDoc for records;
• Restock first aid;
• Maintain the health center;
• Support routine and emergency care;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
• Non-traditional work hours are expected. When campers are on site, the Health Supervisor is on duty. The Health Supervisor typically has intermittent down time between health center hours and medication administration and guaranteed time off between camp sessions.
• Long, non-traditional hours; on-site housing near the Health Center; indoor/outdoor work in all weather; daily walking on uneven terrain; and physical activity including lifting up to 50 lbs.
General Accountabilities
Maintain and distribute health supplies; coordinate with emergency services; transport individuals as needed; communicate with caregivers; ensure compliance with ACA/HIPAA/Red Cross; create care plans; support staff training; manage documentation; prepare medications and emergency information for trips; provide strong customer service; supervise children; and complete additional duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
CNA, EMT, or related training; two semesters in a nursing/medical/helping-profession program; First Aid/CPR/AED certification; 1 year youth-program experience; 1 year healthcare experience; crisis-management experience; strong communication skills; valid driver's license; ability to work with diverse populations; and adherence to camp/ACA standards.
