POSITION SUMMARY
The Hospital IT Director leads the development, implementation, and management of healthcare technology systems. This role ensures the hospital's IT infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with industry regulations such as HIPAA. The IT Director collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to optimize electronic health records (EHR), cybersecurity measures, and overall IT operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the hospital's IT systems, including electronic health records (EHR), patient management systems, and other healthcare technologies.
· Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA and other data security standards.
· Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify technological needs and implement solutions.
· Manage IT staff and vendors, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of systems.
· Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with the hospital's goals.
· Monitor and address cybersecurity threats to protect sensitive patient data.
· Plan and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
· Lead projects to upgrade or implement new technologies to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· 5-10 years of experience in IT leadership, preferably in a healthcare setting.
· Strong knowledge of electronic health records (EHR), HIPAA compliance, and healthcare cybersecurity.
· Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology implementations.
· Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with clinical and administrative staff.
· Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
· Master's Degree (Preferred) in IT Management, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
