About the Role:
The Pool Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and optimal operation of swimming pools within the accommodation and food services industry. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, water quality testing, and equipment inspections to guarantee a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and staff. The technician will troubleshoot and repair pool systems, including pumps, filters, and chemical feeders, to maintain efficient functionality. Attention to detail and adherence to health and safety regulations are paramount to prevent hazards and ensure compliance with local and state standards. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of the facility by maintaining pristine pool conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of pool chemistry and water treatment processes.
- Experience with pool maintenance equipment and tools.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and handle chemicals responsibly.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to access multiple sites if required.
- Permission to work in US
- English/Spanish preferred but may not be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Pool Maintenance experience.
- Previous experience working in the accommodation or hospitality industry.
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with local and state pool safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of pool water quality, including pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and calcium hardness levels, and adjust chemical treatments accordingly.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as skimming debris, vacuuming pool floors, brushing walls, and emptying skimmer baskets to maintain cleanliness.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorinators to ensure proper operation and prevent downtime.
- Document maintenance activities, chemical usage, and any repairs performed to maintain accurate records for compliance and operational purposes.
- Respond promptly to any pool-related issues or emergencies, coordinating with management and vendors as necessary to resolve problems efficiently.
