Qualifications and Experience:
- Active North Carolina Special Education Teaching certification required for interview consideration
- Experience in K-12 special education settings strongly preferred
- Proven understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to assess students’ needs and adapt instructional methods effectively
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility and a commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classrooms
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive, differentiated lesson plans for students receiving special education services
- Develop, update, and manage IEPs in line with district and state regulations
- Work closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure cohesive support
- Track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed and maintaining detailed documentation
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that encourages growth for all learners
- Participate in professional development and school meetings throughout the academic year
