About the Role:

Aquila Technology is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The team has a need for a Network Engineer to contribute to supporting the special networking requirements of multiple projects with local and remote locations, managed by the teams specific networks and collaborate with other important groups/teams on the management of networks.

There are a few requirements for the position:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen- Must have an Active Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
  • Must be within 100 miles of worksite (Lexington, MA)

Must Have

  • Certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification
  • Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years - Networks
  • 5 years - Configuration and Management of CISCO, Juniper and Extreme Hardware
  • 5 years - Design and Architecture Complex Networks
  • 5 years - Network Architecture
  • 5 years - Networking experience (routers/switches/firewalls/servers)
  • 5 years - Optimization of Distribution Networks
  • 5 years - System Auditing, Hardening and Firewall Configurations
  • 5 years - Troubleshoot and Resolve Complex Networking Issues
  • 5 years - UDP Multicast and Unicast

Nice to Have

  • Networks
  • Network Systems Analysis
  • PaloAlto configuration
  • SSH Server implementation, Linux Networking Configuration, Host Based Firewall, Web Server
  • Vulnerability Assessments

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of Networking Technologies
  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate - working towards Cisco Certified Networking Professional
  • Experience with configuration and management of CISCO, Juniper, and Extreme hardware
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with a team
  • Must possess excellent communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate
  • Experience with COMSEC equipment
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Work location: Onsite -Individual works generally on-site in Lexington, MA. Candidates can expect to work 100% onsite with the occasional ability to work remotely.

Travel: Estimated at 1 week per quarter. Destinations typically CONUS with occasional travel to Hawaii.

Education/Experience: BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Network Engineering or Management, or other Information Technology field. Plus 5 years' experience. The team will consider candidates without a degree but they must have directly related experience.
