Job Description
A premier California-based Am Law 200 firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its highly regarded Litigation Practice Group. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys looking to work on sophisticated commercial and business disputes while gaining meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and mentorship from leading litigators. The firm represents businesses, financial institutions, real estate developers, investors, and other clients in complex litigation matters throughout California and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle complex commercial and business litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other substantive filings
- Conduct legal research, discovery, depositions, and witness preparation
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on sophisticated business disputes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications:
- Prior experience at a major law firm / Am Law 200 firm is highly preferred.
- A high level of academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA).
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- 2 - 4 years of commercial litigation experience
- Experience handling complex business disputes, contract matters, commercial litigation, and related litigation matters
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Proven ability to independently manage litigation matters and work collaboratively within a team environment
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $225,000 – $285,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- Billable Hour: 1950 Annually
- Bonus Structure: Bonuses are paid out, ranging anywhere from $45,000 to $100,000.
