Position: Deli Clerk
Reports To: Store Manager, Department Manager

Job Summary:
As a Deli Clerk at The Golden Hog, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing, slicing, packaging, and serving deli products such as meats, cheeses, fresh salads, and made-to-order sandwiches. You will maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and presentation while assisting customers with product selection and ensuring excellent shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet customers and provide knowledgeable assistance with deli products.
· Slice, cut, weigh, package, and label deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods.
· Prepare and serve deli salads, ensuring freshness, proper portioning, and attractive presentation.
· Assemble and serve sandwiches according to customer orders and company recipes.
· Maintain proper rotation of products, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
· Follow all food handling, sanitation, and safety standards.
· Keep deli counters, displays, and preparation areas clean, stocked, and organized.
· Assist with inventory management, including restocking and monitoring product levels.
· Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and resolve issues promptly and courteously.
· Support team members and assist in other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
· Previous deli, food service, or retail experience preferred but not required.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting to 40 lbs.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not mandatory.
· Must hold a valid Food Handling Certificate or do the online training.
· Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
· Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Schedule:
Your standard work schedule will be five days per week, with two days off scheduled based on operational needs. Flexibility is required, as you may occasionally be asked to work on holidays or additional days to support special events.
