FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES\n

  • Blasting \n
      \n
    • Operate sandblasting equipment to prepare metal surfaces for coating.
    • \n

    • Select the appropriate abrasive media based on job specifications.
    • \n

    • Achieve the required surface cleanliness and anchor profile (e.g., SSPC/NACE or ISO standards).
    • \n

    • Inspect blasted surfaces for cleanliness and quality before coating.
    • \n

    • Maintain blast hoses, nozzles, compressors, and dust collection systems.
    • \n

  • \n

  • Arc Spray (Thermal Spray) \n
      \n
    • Set up, operate, and monitor arc spray equipment according to work instructions and specifications.
    • \n

    • Prepare surfaces before thermal spray application to ensure proper coating adhesion.
    • \n

    • Select and install the correct spray wire and adjust machine parameters.
    • \n

    • Apply coatings to meet specified thickness, quality, and customer requirements.
    • \n

    • Inspect coated surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups when required.
    • \n

  • \n

  • Paint Shop \n
      \n
    • Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
    • \n

    • Apply primers, intermediate coats, and finish coats using spray guns or other approved methods.
    • \n

    • Monitor coating thickness and curing requirements.
    • \n

    • Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, finish quality, and defects.
    • \n

    • Clean and maintain painting equipment after use.
    • \n

  • \n

  • Maintain production records and quality documentation.
  • \n

  • Ensure proper containment and disposal of spent materials.
  • \n

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
  • \n

  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance
  • \n

  • Report equipment malfunctions and quality issues promptly.
  • \n

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S practices).
  • \n

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, managers, and other departments.
  • \n

  • Follow all safety procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE and ventilation systems
  • \n

  • Follow all NOV Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • \n

  • Assist with other shop duties as assigned.
  • \n

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS\n
\n
\n

    \n
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • \n

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • \n

  • Prior coating, sandblasting, or manufacturing experience preferred but not always required.
  • \n

  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
  • \n

  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
  • \n

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.
  • \n

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills may be preferred for documentation.
  • \n

  • Work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, and other required equipment.
