Job Description

As a Security Officer - Healthcare Campus Patrols in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment. Your visible presence and routine patrols help to deter security-related incidents, while your commitment to outstanding customer service supports a welcoming atmosphere. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license, where you will be part of a people-first team built on integrity and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure atmosphere.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the location to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or patients to provide assistance and relay information as appropriate.
  • Document and report observations, incidents, and/or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities and follow established procedures for medical and/or security-related incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
