Established (30+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Education Law Associate for Education Law in East Syracuse, New York An established firm based in East Syracuse, New York with over 30 years in practice is seeking an Education Law Associate with 5+ years of experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement. This role focuses on education law matters representing public school districts and BOCES, including advisory, compliance, and litigation matters, while working in a highly collaborative and mission-driven law firm environment dedicated to serving public education clients. Salary range: $115,000-$160,000+

Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing
At least 5+ years of experience practicing education law or closely related public sector law
Experience advising public school districts, boards of education, or other educational institutions
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with boards of education, administrators, and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial and team-oriented law firm environment Responsibilities
Providing legal counsel and representation to school district and BOCES clients on a wide range of education law matters
Advising boards of education and administrators on governance, policy development, and regulatory compliance
Handling matters involving student discipline, special education, personnel issues, and school operations
Drafting and reviewing policies, contracts, and resolutions for public education clients
Representing school districts in administrative proceedings and related litigation
Supporting clients with risk management, training, and proactive legal guidance related to educational operations - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
