Assistant Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
Position Location: Manassas, VA
Pay Rate: $22–$25 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (40 hours per week)
Position Summary
The Assistant Engineer supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial facility. This hands-on role assists the Chief Engineer and maintenance team with routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with operation, inspection, and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Support the Chief Engineer in maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform general building upkeep, safety checks, and repairs as directed.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Comply with OSHA standards and company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report facility issues promptly and assist in troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in maintenance, facilities support, or building operations required.
- Must be able to pass a background check. The background check will take 1-2 weeks to complete. If passed, the selected candidate will receive pay for the processing time from when the candidate completes the paperwork to their 1st day of work.
- Permanent Resident or US Citizen required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, safety standards, and maintenance practices.
- Certification in one or more of the following areas is required: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing.
- Must be fluent in English; Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $22–$25 (based on experience)
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
