Position Title: Childcare Site Supervisor
Reports To: Program Manager

Friendship House of Christian Service is a faith-based Community Development Agency rooted in the South Side neighborhood of Billings since 1957. We are committed to building a healthier community through holistic, wrap-around services that support children, youth, teens, adults, and families—spiritually, socially, emotionally, and economically.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Childcare Site Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Childcare program and ensures a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This position is responsible for supervising staff, managing curriculum implementation, maintaining compliance with state licensing and Best Beginnings STARS to Quality standards, and engaging families as active participants in their child’s development. The Supervisor is a key leader in maintaining high-quality care and program effectiveness aligned with the mission and values of Friendship House.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Site & Staff Management:
- Supervise all Childcare staff and volunteers; provide mentorship, direction, and support.
- Maintain staff schedules, ensure appropriate ratios, and oversee daily staffing needs.
- Conduct regular team meetings and individual check-ins.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, especially those related to licensing and safety.
- Program Implementation & Curriculum:
- Oversee the planning and execution of curriculum that aligns with early childhood best practices and program goals.
- Support lesson development that meets the developmental needs of each age group served.
- Ensure integration of STARS to Quality standards into daily routines and educational practices.
- Child & Family Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with children and their families to support growth and learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s development and well-being.
- Address behavioral or developmental concerns collaboratively with families and staff.
- Administrative & Compliance Duties:
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and grant requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, tracking program outcomes and metrics.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of classrooms, play areas, and shared facilities.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to maintain licensing, staff qualifications, and training documentation.
- Continuous Improvement & Teamwork:
- Monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.
- Proactively suggest changes to increase program impact and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and other Friendship House teams.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting, with supervisory or leadership experience.
- Knowledge of state childcare regulations and Best Beginnings STARS to Quality standards.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to model professional behavior, compassion, and Christian values in a diverse environment.
