A-Level Auto Mechanic for a Commercial Roofing Company
Full Time, Non-Exempt
Primary Function:
- Works on heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Position Summary:
- Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and is comfortable maintaining accurate service records. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented professional who can work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Perform work on hydraulic systems and air brake systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A-Level mechanic certification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience with heavy equipment (construction, fleet, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and air brake systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Good record-keeping and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, if applicable)
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding
Preferred Skills:
- Welding or fabrication experience
- CDL certification
- Experience with diesel engines
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited, lifting materials and equipment, standing, climbing, walking, or using hands to operate/handle tools.
