Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Certification for K-6
- Experience supporting students in grades 3-6, ideally within a resource classroom
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Compassionate, collaborative communication with students, families, and fellow educators
- Ability to tailor instructional strategies to meet individual student goals
- Strong organization and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students identified with special needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with team members
- Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to accommodate diverse academic levels and learning styles
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining up-to-date records
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to support each student’s progress
- Ensure compliance with all special education laws and regulations
