AAC is seeking a skilled Zscaler Engineer to support a federal client in the Washington, DC area. This is a fully remote position and focuses on the deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of Zscaler cloud security solutions in a complex enterprise environment.

***This position requires the ability to obtain a secret security clearance. ***

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy Zero Trust Components using ZScaler and CISCO tools in LAN, WLAN, WAN networks.
  • Resolve escalated issues.
  • Mentor team members and address user needs.
  • Problem-solving skills with knowledge of Zero Trust administration and architecture.
  • Author enterprise compliance standards and networking architecture.
  • Collaborate with Technical SMEs and vendors.
  • Create/maintain documentation: standards, design templates, topology diagrams, workflow documents.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

  • Zero Trust Certified Architect from ZScaler (ZTCA).
  • ZScaler Private Access (ZPA) Certifications.
  • Experience as a Network Engineer supporting the Federal Government.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Cisco, AWS Solution Architect Associate).
  • Background in network administration and architecture.
  • Experience with diagnostic/monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime).
  • Strong/advanced knowledge of:
    • - Network Access Control (NAC)
    • - Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
    • - Network architecture/products
    • - Interior Gateway Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP)
    • - Border Gateway Protocol (BGP): configuration, peering, route advertisements, prefix lists, route-maps
    • - SSH/SNMP protocols
    • - Multi-tiered application traffic flow, server load balancing, global load balancing, routing
    • - Incident/problem/change management processes
  • Excellent verbal/written communication due to the need to communicate effectively with remote team members, vendors and during time-sensitive incidents
  • Experience using network management tools and packet captures to resolve operational issues
  • Experience with TGWs
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and mentoring skills

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of networking experience. May consider a Zscaler certification in lieu of some years of experience
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP)
  • Operational experience with network platform technologies, including hardware refresh, software testing, software upgrades, and complex troubleshooting techniques
  • High level experience with Cisco switches and ACLs
