JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Surveillance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Surveillance

REPORTS TO: Surveillance Manager

POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: None

POSITION SUMMARY:

To ensure the protection of life and property at Divi Carina Bay Casino. To observe the activity on the gaming floor and ensure the integrity of the games. Ability to service all equipment used in surveillance operations.

TASKS:

• Maintains consistency with established company guidelines and controls.
• Ensures the quality of operations on the shift he/she works.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Virgin Islands Casino Control Commission (CCC) and ensures strict adherence to same throughout the property.
• Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Follows established reporting system for Surveillance. Inform Surveillance Manager when cheating, theft, embezzlement, or suspicious activities take place on the property.
• Repair and installation of surveillance cameras, maintenance of DVR equipment, and computer systems.
• Studies cheating activity and trends in other gaming areas, in order to take precautionary measures and deter cheating on this property.
• Regularly inspects the monitored areas, identifies potential safety or security hazards, and reports same to the Surveillance Manager.
• Ensures proper functioning of all surveillance equipment, and reporting need for repairs to Surveillance Manager.
• Other tasks as requested by management.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:

Must be at least 21 years old and must be able to obtain a US Virgin Islands Gaming Work Permit/License.

EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred experience/skills: Minimum of two (2) years in a law enforcement agency or related field preferred. Background in gaming surveillance and repair/installation of electronic equipment highly preferred. Must possess excellent observational, writing and communication skills.

Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents such as technical journals, Gaming Regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, or department heads.

HAZARDS: Include, but are not limited to: neck and back strain, eye strain, stress and related disorders, crowds, moderate noise level. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.
