Commercial Field Sales Coach
Monday and Thursday onsite WEEKLY (Remote/Field rest of week)
Often travel (mileage reimbursed)
Overview
Responsible for driving commercial lines growth through a blend of field mentorship, training, and hands-on new business placement support. This role works closely with member agents (agency principals, account managers and producers) and insurance carriers to streamline the delivery of information regarding new business opportunities and the commercial sales process.
This position operates both in the field and in-office, providing in-person coaching, pipeline development support, carrier placement strategy, and live deal guidance. The role requires a high level of prioritization and organizational skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Keep track of submission requests on Sales Force, making sure to distribute quotes based on mentorship assignments.
- Review new business applications or bind requests for completeness.
- Identify and proactively contact responsible member agent to obtain any missing information and/or receive clarification on any information needed to quote and/or bind the account.
- Finalize quote online with appropriate companies or submit to appropriate carriers depending on the carrier’s new business restrictions/requirements.
- Forward quotes as received to ISM for their review.
- In the event standard markets are not available, seek and provide complete information to ISM for alternative coverage options.
- Develop E&S expertise.
- Issue policies through insurance carrier’s website upon receipt of complete bind request.
- Quote alongside agents.
- Assist with complex placements.
- Meet and/or exceed all assigned submission goals and time standards.
- Walk new member agents through mentorship program.
- Conduct quality assurance audits.
- Assist in training initiatives and deliver training sessions
- Coordinate member meetings.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve objectives.
- Assist with marketing content creation.
- Engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Travel to member agencies for in‑person coaching.
- Work one‑on‑one to increase binds and pipeline growth.
- Partner on renewals and remarketing.
- Identify field trends and opportunities.
- Build trusted agency relationships.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General Lines Property & Casualty License (TX) required.
- Basic computer/email skills.
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years personal/commercial lines insurance experience.
- a high volume of transactions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to individuals and small groups.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common communications received from carriers and our member agents. Ability to communicate effectively to common inquiries or complaints from customers or business members of the community.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of numerical data from quote reports, new business reports, etc.
