High school diploma or GED required. Additional training or experience in sales, customer service, or equipment operations is a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

Customer Service & Sales Support

· Greet and assist walk-in and call-in customers with equipment sales, rentals, quotes, and general inquiries.

· Handle customer disputes, suggestive selling opportunities, and provide professional, courteous service.

· Support outside sales reps with used equipment transactions, trade inspections, documentation, and lead generation.

· Identify potential sales and trade-in opportunities from shop inventory and communicate leads to sales reps.

· Conduct outbound cold calls, maintain CRM logs, and plan outreach based on territory and market segmentation.

Rental Operations

· Process rental agreements, vendor invoices, and purchasing paperwork in accordance with company procedures.

· Record missed rental opportunities and ensure rental agreement accuracy as part of the rental counter excellence program.

· Assist with rental quotes, equipment orders, and coordination of deliveries and pickups in collaboration with service and hauling teams.

Equipment Handling & Yard Management

· Receive, barcode, reposition, and document new and used equipment arrivals and departures.

· Stage machines for customer pickup, shift preps, and nightly parts trucks.

· Hook up and verify hydro-mechanical work tools prior to delivery; remove customer stickers from used equipment.

· Wash dirty machines and attachments proactively; maintain a clean, organized yard.

· Conduct daily yard walks to identify safety concerns, misplaced equipment, or damage.

Inventory & Documentation

· Perform weekly inventory scans and reconciliations.

· Complete shipping/receiving records and ensure all customer paperwork is signed, recorded, and stored properly.

· Document equipment status in Record360 with sufficient photos; send used machine photos to the Used CCE Sales Manager.

· Collaborate with the inventory team to manage internal transfers, maintain stocking levels, and ensure accurate equipment tracking.

Communication & Coordination

· Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams to support smooth operations.

· Respond promptly to phone calls and text messages.

· Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups with service and hauling departments.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Experience with Microsoft Office suite is required. Salesforce and DBS experience is preferred.

Prior experience in yard operations, equipment handling, or a related field preferred; familiarity with construction or heavy equipment is a plus.

Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Effective communication skills and comfort using mobile apps/systems (e.g., Record360, DBS) for documentation and coordination.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Must be able to pass background check, physical exam and drug screening test.

Work Environment:

This position is split between an office environment and outdoors which requires working in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role involves physical activity, operating equipment, and navigating a busy yard environment throughout the day. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, employees must be careful while performing onsite services. performing onsite services.
