A growing construction-related company is seeking a local, experienced Project Manager to join their team on-site in the Northvale, New Jersey area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys guiding and mentoring Assistant Project Managers (APMs) while overseeing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
The Project Manager will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating materials, maintaining budgets, and ensuring projects stay on track. This is an in-office role, working closely with APMs and other team members to provide day-to-day support, technical expertise, and direction.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a go-to resource and mentor for in-house APMs, offering daily support and technical guidance

Review plans and specifications using internal software systems

Validate estimator work to ensure product accuracy, including door handing, hardware functionality, undercuts, and jamb depth

Prepare detailed submittals outlining products to be used on each project

Coordinate job site deliveries with clients, installation teams, and warehouse staff

Proactively anticipate project needs and resolve issues as they arise

Provide expert input on door and hardware products

Prepare and track change orders due to design or scope changes

Maintain project budgets and ensure gross profit targets are met

Collaborate with finance team to ensure accurate monthly billing and requisitions
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior team members or APMs is strongly preferred

Experience with Software for Hardware (SFH) is a plus
-
Familiarity with Division 8, Division 6, and Division 10 construction standards is a plus

Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project lifecycle

Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative

Local to the Northvale, NJ area and available to work in-office full-time
