Job Summary
The Mechanic Assistant is an entry-level position on the Mechanics Team, whose primary responsibility is the cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment on a private estate, including but not limited to highway vehicles, side-by-side UTVs, off-road vehicles, dirtbikes, bikes, go-karts, recreational equipment, operational vehicles, light/heavy equipment and tools. As directed by the Fleet Operations Supervisor, and working in collaboration with the Mechanics, the Mechanic Assistant will provide general support to the Mechanics Team, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, assist repair projects and support recreational activities as needed, while always ensuring worksite safety and quality completion of work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment (75%)
- Upkeep of workshop areas, equipment and tools (20%)
- Support of repair projects and recreational events (5%)
Responsibilities & Duties
- Cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Transportation, staging and fueling of vehicles
- Assistance with vehicle and equipment repairs, as directed
- Maintenance, cleaning and organization of shop areas, tools, equipment, materials and supplies
- Support for recreational activities
- Performance of related duties as assigned
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Strong work ethic; willingness to perform a wide range of support tasks
- Foundational knowledge of vehicle cleaning procedures (washing, rinsing, drying, waxing, etc.)
- Foundational knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operation
- General diagnostic and mechanical skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to be trained in all areas in order to develop experience and breadth of knowledge
- Commitment to enforce and comply with health and safety guidelines at all times
- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers and guests/owners
- Solid basic math skills
- Good physical condition, stamina and dexterity
- Valid Driver's License
- Reliable vehicle to get to/from work
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands & Work Conditions
- Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting
- Working in cramped spaces, under vehicles and on step-stools/ladders
- Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working outdoors with or without wet, dusty or windy weather conditions
- Working with and around combustible and/or hazardous materials, using proper PPE
- Able to drive a side-by-side "Utility" vehicle (UTV)
- Able to drive a full-size work truck

Salary Range$32—$34 USD
