Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Correctional Healthcare

Location: Oshkosh, WI area – On-site
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the healthcare team at a correctional facility in east-central Wisconsin. This is a W2 contract role (approx. 6 months) for an experienced correctional nurse who wants to make a real difference delivering quality care to an underserved population. You’ll work closely with RNs, providers, and correctional staff in a secure, structured environment. Local and travel nurses are welcome to apply.
What you will be doing:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately and on time in the medical record
- Monitor patient health status and report changes to the RN or provider
- Provide wound care, chronic disease management, and routine nursing interventions
- Assist with intake screenings, health assessments, and discharge planning
- Respond to medical emergencies and urgent care needs
- Educate patients on conditions, medications, and treatment plans
- Follow infection control, safety, and security procedures at all times
What you must have:
- Current, unrestricted LPN license (Wisconsin or compact)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a correctional facility
- Strong medication administration and clinical assessment skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to pass a background check and facility security clearance
- Three professional supervisor references
Salary/Rate Range:
- Local: $37.00/hr
- Travel: $41.00/hr
Other Information:
- 36 hours per week, PM shift: 9:45 AM – 10:15 PM
- Every other weekend; holidays as needed per unit
- W2 contract position
