Job DescriptionAnalytical Quality Assurance Technologist

Role snapshot

  • Position: Quality Technician 1
  • Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am with additional overtime as needed per business need)
  • Focus: Analytical testing, data integrity, production support, and lab systems upkeep

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out validated analytical methods—titrations and other wet chemistry—per SOPs and project directives; ensure accuracy and turnaround times.
  • Test raw inputs, in‑process materials, and finished goods against physical/chemical specs and drawings/specs.
  • Record observations, results, and recommendations in lab notebooks, spreadsheets, and quality systems; promptly communicate out‑of‑specs to production and quality leaders.
  • Administer the Quality Retain / First Sample Retention Program: correct labeling, secure storage, and compliant disposition.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly lab; manage inventory of reagents and supplies.
  • Run routine verifications and basic calibrations on balances, pH meters, and titration equipment; document all activities.
  • Participate in investigations and basic root‑cause analysis; compile test data to support corrective actions.
  • Audit in‑process checks on the floor for method adherence and documentation; help address defects and escalate issues to supervision and Quality Management.
  • Model safety and housekeeping best practices; follow all plant and lab safety programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or chemistry coursework strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in quality, laboratory, or QA within manufacturing or chemical operations.
  • Ability to interpret SOPs, specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry, trending, and reporting.
  • Detail‑oriented documentation skills; ability to handle multiple tests and priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Comfort working around fumes/chemicals with PPE; able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
