Job Title: Garnishment Clerk
Location: Odessa, FL 33556 (On-site)
Pay Rate: $20 hr.
Type: Contract To hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in office
Summary: The Garnishment Clerk provides support to the Legal Department's Post-Final Judgment (Post-FJ) team. This role helps ensure individuals and families who have defaulted on payments receive clear, integrity-driven communications and assistance in fulfilling their financial obligations. The position involves managing clerical, administrative, and research tasks to support post-judgment collections and correspondence efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Post-FJ team by managing clerical duties including scanning, faxing, copying, packaging, and mailing post-judgment correspondence.
2. Prepare and organize post-FJ correspondence letters for customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Research debtor files and assets using databases such as C&A, Work#, Google search, Sunbiz, and Netronline.
4. Review and input service of process invoices into the system of record.
5. Prepare and e-file necessary pleadings, notices, and motions related to the garnishment process.
6. Manage incoming daily mail and prepare it for processing.
7. Assist the team or department with special projects as needed.
8. Support team cohesion by assisting other department members as appropriate.
Qualifications/Education/Certifications:
- (1)+ year general law office experience is required
- Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
- Intermediate skills in math and language.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, internet research, and database software.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Background check required
- Drug screening required
