Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting Liberty Tire Recycling’s IT infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments. This role includes administration of Windows Server, Microsoft Sentinel, virtual desktops, and endpoint management systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in system operations, security monitoring, and cross-functional IT support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy
- Manage Hyper-V/VMware platforms and virtual desktop environments including Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Configure and manage Azure VMs, resource groups, and automated tasks such as update management and backups
- Monitor security events and conduct investigations using Microsoft Sentinel and Log Analytics
- Support identity and access management using Azure AD, conditional access, and SSO
- Oversee endpoint provisioning, patching, and compliance through Microsoft Intune and SCCM
- Perform system patching, manage backups, and assist with disaster recovery planning
- Provide support for Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Defender, and SharePoint
- Collaborate with networking, security, and application teams to support IT operations
- Document procedures, configurations, and mentor junior IT staff
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, updates)
- Experience with Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and virtual desktop environments (VDI)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel for security monitoring and incident response
- Skilled in Microsoft Intune and SCCM for endpoint management
- Basic familiarity with FortiGate firewalls to assist in network security support
- Experience with Ubiquiti/UniFi devices for general IT infrastructure tasks
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a related IT role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Experience with Vonage phone systems and Cisco Umbrella is a plus
