Salary: $49,269 - $65,691 DOE
General Purpose:
Performs a variety of general managerial and supervisory duties as needed to coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities in Washington City.
Supervision Received:
Works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
Supervision Exercised:
Provides direction and general supervision to maintenance staff when Maintenance Manager is not present.
Essential Functions:
- Frequently inspects facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommends t he necessary repair or maintenance needed.
- Provides support and advice during staff hiring and helps ensure proper training of new and existing staff.
- Assists with maintenance employee schedules.
- Works closely with vendors, outsourced service providers, and contractors to make sure all jobs are completed to our standards.
- Occasionally inspects the quality of performed maintenance work.
- Generates work orders, enters job details, and assigns work orders to the appropriate maintenance staff.
Daily Job responsibilities
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on all upcoming, existing, and future maintenance projects.
- Respond to new work orders daily and keep existing work orders organized until completion.
- Organize each job and the parts and materials needed for its completion.
- Keep materials and spare parts organized.
- Recommend upgrades, overhauls and other changes to major systems and equipment.
- Actively participate in projects, remodeling, or renovation.
- Help out with day-to-day maintenance work as needed.
- Communicate directly with other City departments to resolve service requests.
- Purchasing of parts needed to perform maintenance work orders and requests as needed.
- Drive City owned vehicles to job sites or to pick up parts.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be on time to work and have good regular attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Four years or more related experience in building maintenance and supervisory.
- Prefer some technical courses or related training.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with delegating, and resolving employee conflicts.
- A valid driver's License and reliable transportation is required.
- Must have good supervisory skills, leadership qualities, and multitasking ability.

2. Work Environment:

- Work may require lifting, reaching, carrying up to 50 lbs. And moving items that may exceed 80lbs using team lifting techniques.
- Communicating, seeing, hearing, and speaking effectively is essential to job effectiveness.
- May be subject to working in hot and cold temperatures.
- Will have to be able to effectively direct the daily communications with the maintenance staff under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Tasks may require lifting, reaching, carrying up to 45 lbs. and moving items that may
exceed 80lbs.
