Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Woodhaven, MI facility. This role is critical in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and yard equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and related systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment
- Maintain accurate service and repair records using CMMS or other tracking systems
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with the transportation and logistics team to prioritize work and minimize downtime
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and yard trucks as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy truck technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and trailer repair
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and manage time effectively
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
Hours & Schedule:
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00PM–10:30PM
Night Shift: 10:00PM–6:30AM
Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as required by production and fleet demands.
