Role Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is a full-time, on-site role based in Sterling Heights, MI. This position is responsible for receiving incoming materials and shipping finished coated parts, verifying orders against packing slips and purchase orders, and inspecting shipments for accuracy and damage. The clerk prepares outgoing shipments by packing parts securely, labeling and documenting packages, and arranging transport using forklift and other material-handling equipment. Daily tasks include feeding machinists jobs from the schedule, maintaining a clean and safe shipping area, and coordinating with production and office teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials. The role also involves clear communication with carriers, vendors, and internal staff to resolve discrepancies and support efficient warehouse operations.

Qualifications

- Candidates will be taught skills in Shipping & Receiving, including verifying orders, processing documentation, and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments.
- Candidates will learn skills in Packing and safe material handling, ensuring parts are protected and prepared correctly for transport.
- Candidates will learn skills in operating a Pallet Jack and basic warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Candidates will learn skills including tracking stock, updating records, and managing storage locations.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for working with carriers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required, follow safety procedures, and work on-site for the full shift.
