Job Description:

The EDB Application Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Enrollment Database (EDB) and related systems. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the EDB within the modernized platform. The candidate will leverage their extensive experience to contribute to the system's architecture, optimization, and overall performance.

Requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
  • You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in application and database engineering, with a focus on EDB systems.
    Strong proficiency in Oracle databases, including SQL and PL/SQL, stored procedures, materialized views, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT data transformations, data integration, migration, validation, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience working with MUMPS (VistA) and integrating legacy healthcare systems.
  • Backend application experience using Java with Spring and Hibernate.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications deployed on Oracle WebLogic.
  • Familiarity with JSP-based web applications.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards and integrations, including HL7.
  • Familiarity with relevant security and compliance standards.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions and tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or similar.

Responsibilities

System Development and Maintenance:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the EDB and related systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement enhancements and upgrades to improve functionality, performance, and user experience.

Data Integration and Migration:

  • Support the migration of data from legacy systems to the modernized platform, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
  • Develop and execute data integration processes to ensure seamless data flow between systems

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor system performance and health, identifying potential issues and implementing improvements.
  • Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization tasks.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders as needed.

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure all systems comply with relevant security standards and regulations, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and apply necessary patches to address vulnerabilities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, processes, and procedures related to the EDB.
  • Generate regular reports on system status, performance, and any issues encountered

User Support and Issue Resolution:

  • Provide user support and resolve issues related to the EDB and related systems.
  • Track, analyze, and resolve user-reported problems efficiently.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the EDB and related systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed.
