Job Title GROUNDSKEEPER (full-time hourly)
Reports To HEAD GROUNDSKEEPER
Description
The Groundskeeper position is a full-time, hourly position requiring a flexible schedule including occasional evening and weekend work. As with all positions at Carrollwood Farms, the Groundskeeper may be called upon to work in areas outside of the immediate area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
You'll play a key role in shaping and maintaining the beauty and functionality of our farm. You'll be responsible for maintaining existing features like yards, beds, road edges, and trails, along with assisting in installing new work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, and snow management
- operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment, including hand tools (loppers, saws, shovels) and power equipment, including lawn mowers, skid steers, gators, and small tractors, to support grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks.
- keep the grounds free of trash, debris, and litter.
- assist with clean-up, including leaf removal and debris clearing.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in planting, mowing, and general outdoor maintenance.
- Proficiency in using landscaping tools safely.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for creating a beautiful and functional environment.
- Be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
A willingness to work hard. Good, positive attitude. Flexible schedule. A “no job is too small mindset.” Excellent time and project management skills. Must be able to bend, lift, kneel, and twist. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, and 50 lbs regularly. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time. Occasionally work during the rain.
