Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Attorney for a temporary General Counsel position. This is a fully remote position, but Washington, D.C. preferred (should the role transition to a direct hire position it's hybrid 2 days in office). The ideal candidate will have experience working with various contracts and be responsible for full cycle contract management including but not limited to ( Non-profit agreements, lending agreements, RFPs, Staffing Agreements, Insurance Agreements, and be well versed in Corporate Governance). T his role offers the flexibility of remote work while delivering challenging, meaningful legal work in a supportive environment. Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of corporate agreements
- Provide legal and operational support for Early Care and Education grant programs, including oversight of grant administration activities
- Manage the full lifecycle of grant programs operating on behalf of state and local governments, from initial setup through ongoing provider support
- Review, negotiate, and administer grant agreements with child care providers, foundations, and government entities
- Interpret and ensure compliance with government contracts, grant requirements, and RFPs
- Support grantees from onboarding through program completion, including managing and resolving non-compliance issues
- Coordinate grant implementation from client through the provider stage, ensuring adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements
- Review and advise on staff agreements related to grant-funded programs
- Manage insurance renewals and related risk management matters
- Handle a wide range of in-house general legal needs, including corporate governance support
- Oversee litigation matters in coordination with outside counsel; lending and grant-related litigation experience is a plus
- Interface with paralegals and internal stakeholders responsible for contract review and administration
- Apply lending knowledge where applicable to support grant and financing-related initiatives
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Washington, D.C.
- 5+ years of relevant corporate law experience, non-profit experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of general corporate law and contract matters
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting

Pay Details: $100.00 to $125.00 per hour
