Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Machinist role located in Oxford, MI. The Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and work orders. Daily tasks include interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and materials, performing measurements and inspections, and making adjustments to ensure parts meet specified tolerances. The role also involves routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, documenting production activities, and collaborating with supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and meet deadlines. The Machinist is expected to follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, and apply basic math and measurement skills.
  • Experience setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machines, including selecting tools, fixtures, and appropriate machining parameters.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
  • Understanding of machining processes, materials, and shop safety practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify and correct machining issues or dimensional errors.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and meet production schedules.
  • Prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment; vocational training or certification in machining is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes, adapt to changing priorities, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
