About the Role:
As a Cement Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and breakdown of cementing equipment on oilfield locations. You will play a critical role in executing cement pumping and mixing operations to specification, ensuring well integrity and supporting overall drilling and completion performance. Your adherence to safety and HSE standards will help maintain a compliant, incident-free worksite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rig up and rig down of cementing units, mixing equipment, and related tools at well sites.
- Operate cement pumps and mixing systems to deliver cement jobs according to design and operational parameters.
- Monitor cement volumes, rates, pressures, and slurry properties during jobs, making adjustments as required.
- Conduct pre-job equipment checks and function tests to ensure readiness and reliability.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and handling bulk cement, additives, and chemicals in a safe manner.
- Complete job-related documentation and operational reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with field supervisors and other crew members to execute jobs efficiently and according to plan.
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting on cementing equipment.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cement Operator or in a similar oilfield cementing role.
- Strong practical skills in cement pumping and mixing operations in an oilfield environment.
- Demonstrated ability to rig up and rig down cementing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Valid CDL A with no restrictions and a clean driving record suitable for field operations.
- Solid understanding of oilfield safety practices and HSE compliance requirements.
- Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, in varying weather conditions.
- Strong situational awareness and ability to follow operational procedures and safety protocols.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working in Strasburg OH or similar high-activity oilfield regions.
- Familiarity with different cementing tools, additives, and job types (e.g., surface, intermediate, production).
- Basic mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and resolving minor equipment issues.
- Previous experience working on multi-service crews (e.g., fracturing, coil tubing, or other pressure pumping services).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid CDL A with no restrictions required.
- Formal oilfield safety training (e.g., Safeland, H2S, or equivalent) preferred.
- Any additional HSE or equipment operation certifications relevant to cementing operations considered an advantage.
