Independent heavy equipment company requires a lead heavy equipment mechanic to look after approximately 20 to 30 machines working primarily in the energy industry. Applicant must be well organized, self motivated, independent person with good knowledge of Caterpillar heavy equipment. Must be experienced and knowledgeable in electronics. Willing to work in shop and field operations in the drilling / energy industry, answering directly to the operations manager. Welding ability is preferred but not required. Must be willing to travel occasionally to other states occasionally to service and repair equipment working in other states. Must be willing to work substantial overtime. Must have a clean driving record, and have or be willing to get basic safety training certificates. Local candidate would be preferable but a shop residence on site is available if needed. Hourly pay range depending on qualifications: $35 - $45 per hour. Expected hours: 50 - 70 hours per week. Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 annually.
