JOB TITLE Robotics Field Technician

LOCATION On-site (Bay Area, LA, Dallas/Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, or NJ/PA)

COMMITMENT Project-based

COMPENSATION Range: $40 - $70/hour , Pay Frequency: Hourly

THE ROLE

As a Robotics Field Technician, you will be responsible for the on-site deployment and maintenance of robotic systems. This role focuses on hardware setup, system calibration, and rapid troubleshooting to ensure seamless operations at customer facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. On-site Deployment: Handle robot power-up, network configuration, and comprehensive safety checks.
  2. System Calibration: Perform precise calibration for cameras, robotic arms, and mobile bases.
  3. Task Setup: Configure and test basic robotic tasks, including pick-and-place operations and navigation.
  4. Rapid Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical jams, sensor failures, and network/latency issues.
  5. Data Monitoring: Read and interpret basic logs and dashboards to monitor system health.
  6. SOP Compliance: Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) without unauthorized system modifications.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Background: Experience in automation equipment maintenance, factory maintenance, or as a technician for AGV/AMR systems.
  2. Experience: Prior work with engineering service companies or system integrators.
  3. Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities in a field environment.
  4. Language Proficiency: Professional command of English for following technical guidelines and internal communication.
  5. Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Equipment: Hands-on experience with UR, FANUC, KUKA, ABB, or AMRs (Locus, OTTO, MiR).
  2. Software: Basic proficiency in Linux operations and experience with ROS or Web UI interfaces.
  3. Mindset: A project management mindset with a focus on on-site troubleshooting and commissioning.
