Location: In person at our Richmond, VA 23231 location
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

A settlement administrator distinguished by its talent, innovation, and cutting-edge technologies, BrownGreer designs and implements complex mass claims processes that can involve millions of claimants and billions of dollars in settlement funds.
Functions:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the coordination of services to support the operations of the firm to include facilities maintenance, general HVAC monitoring and working with vendors when issues arise, general handyman duties, maintaining office supply levels, service of office equipment, key control for desks, offices and cabinets, tracking of off-site storage, the retrieval and distribution of incoming mail and the metering and recording of outgoing mail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Facilities, Procurement and Logistics and external vendors to resolve general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and other facility-related issues.
- Perform hands-on duties such as basic repairs, upkeep of office areas, office furniture, breakrooms, and oversight of janitorial services. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry out minor handyman projects, including drywall repair, painting, and hanging pictures.
- Monitor inventory of office and janitorial supplies and place orders as needed.
- Assist with mail operations, including daily trips to the post office for mail pickup and delivery.
- Drive the corporate van as needed; must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and maintain professional interactions with employees throughout the firm.
- Support space planning initiatives and coordinate with HR and IT for internal office relocations.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, effectively prioritize assignments, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Adapt to changing daily responsibilities and organizational needs; manage multiple projects and shift priorities as required.
- Serve as an active member of the disaster response and recovery team.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organizational standards, policies, procedures, and all applicable legal regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme outside weather conditions.
Physical Demand and Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, driving, keeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. There are times when the employee must climb a ladder or step ladder. The employee must frequently lift, stack, unstack, or move items up to 50 lbs.
Supervision Exercised: No supervision exercised.
Supervision Received: Supervision received from the Director of Facilities, Procurement and Logistics.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred or minimum of two years of relevant work experience with similar responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, office operations, space management, and emergency preparedness.
- Experience in facilities management within a professional services environment is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and solutions to colleagues and interact professionally with external partners.
- Demonstrated commitment to service excellence in previous roles.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, solve problems, adhere to budget guidelines, and support organizational goals and values.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Consistently maintain a professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a professional setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams, initiate tasks, and learn quickly.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
