Job Description

Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity supporting students across all grade levels as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT). Starting August 27, 2026, you’ll provide vital occupational therapy services across a diverse district for an estimated 12-week duration, covering an FMLA maternity leave—with a strong possibility of extension.

In this role, you’ll partner with dedicated educators and specialists to address a broad spectrum of student needs from Pre-K to grade 12. Your commitment will help maintain continuity of care and enrich each student’s school experience. The district emphasizes collaborative support and values practitioners ready to fully engage with temporary assignments that may grow into longer-term opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Active, valid Connecticut COTA or OT license (CT DPH licensure and NBCOT exam passed if COTA)
  • School-based experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Pre-K–12 students and a variety of disabilities
  • Reliable transportation to travel between district schools
  • Commitment to fulfilling the maternity leave assignment, understanding that initial contract is for the leave period, although extension is possible

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services in alignment with IEP goals and student needs
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists (for COTAs), educators, and related service staff
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Work with students individually or in groups to support functional and educational goals
  • Adapt to varying schedules and rotational work across different schools in the district
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as required

This is a full-time contract position with daily hours totaling approximately 7–7.5 hours, with the schedule confirmed by the district. The environment is supportive, values-driven, and focused on student success district-wide.

If you are a dedicated COTA or OT ready for an impactful, engaging assignment with a forward-thinking school district—and can fully commit to the maternity leave role—apply today to make a difference for students across all grade levels!

Compensation for this position ranges from $23.23 to $43.23. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
