Responsibilities

  • Create / improve pipe materials specifications and perform / review piping design. Create material takeoffs, execute and follow up on procurement processes. Help to solve complex materials issues in projects.
  • Utilizes industry codes and standards (e.g., NOMS, CFE, PEMEX, ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM) to complete assignments that are large and/or complex.
  • Create piping materials specifications and build piping material database from electronic downloads as well as manual takeoffs and perform valve takeoffs from P&IDS for early purchase and tracking throughout the job.
  • Create documents for purchasing all piping materials including many specialty items. Review and process vendor prints as they are received from Document Control. Support procurement, vendors with technical issues.
  • Participation in the process of updating any Piping Material Specification which occur during the job.
  • Participate in prepare responses to RFIs and Technical Queries.
  • Check isometric drawings. (Checking Material etc)
  • Collaborate with all the local and global initiatives including other Kiewit districts and assignations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or equivalent engineering program.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Material Engineer.
  • Proficient in Naviswork, Microstation, SmartPlant review, Bentley Viewer Autocad 2D, Material Manager Software
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API 1104.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • English advanced.
