- Crack fill and seal Borough streets and parking lots, patch potholes in streets, alleys, and parking lots
- Paint pavement markings on all Borough parking lots, paint curbs and crosswalks at Borough intersections
- Install, repair and replace Borough Street signs and posts, as needed. Temporary signs will be placed during emergency situations
- Clean debris from catch basins tops, repair or replace structure, as needed
- Operate all Borough machinery and equipment in safe and efficient manner and according to all state laws and department safety guidelines
- Clean and mow parks, roadsides, and other properties owned by the Borough, as assigned
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper operations of all equipment and perform regular maintenance and repair, as needed
- Clean and maintain all departmental building and grounds, according to standards
- Maintain cleanliness and beaty throughout the Borough by performing general trash pickup, trash collection from downtown Borough containers, limb and tree pickup, dead animal removal and disposal, tree trimming and any other duties which fall within the scope of the position
- Maintain, install and remove all Borough of Gallitzin holiday decorations
- Perform leaf and yard waste pickup and disposal responsibilities, as scheduled
- Install plow and salt spreader equipment. Plow snow, spread sand and salt, change blades, as necessary for winter maintenance
- Present and maintain effective working relationships, with other employees, agencies and the general public
- Assist and perform all other departmental duties, as assigned by Street commissioner and/or Borough manager
- Performs related work as required
- Attend Borough Council meetings as needed
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
