We are seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to join and support our growing legal team. In this role, you will leverage your experience and strong organizational skills to prepare and manage legal documents, file motions, conduct client interviews, and perform legal research.
This position will primarily support our Medical Assistance team, working on matters related to Medicaid, asset protection, planning, and application processes.

Compensation:
$28 - $32 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Communicate professionally with clients and external parties to gather information and provide case updates
- Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including estate plans, pleadings, motions, contracts, correspondence, and reports
- Support attorneys by preparing for client meetings, hearings, and trials through summaries, notes, and background materials
- Organize and maintain case files, manage discovery, and track deadlines to ensure timely case progression
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and relevant regulations
- Assist attorneys during hearings, trials, and other court proceedings
- Schedule case-related events and monitor overall case progress
- Accurately enter data and track billable and non-billable time in the case management system
- Conduct client interviews to gather relevant information regarding legal matters
- Perform administrative duties, including answering phones and maintaining organized filing systems
- Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and supporting client meetings
- Coordinate legal activities such as drafting subpoenas and working with process servers
Qualifications:
- Completion of a paralegal studies program through an accredited college or university, with paralegal certification required; high school diploma required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm; prior experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
- Professional, compassionate, and client-focused demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
