The RoleWe are seeking a part-time Junior IT Support Engineer to support daily operations across our managed client environments.This is an in-office position based in New York City. Most support is delivered remotely from our office. Periodic onsite visits within the NY Metro area are required for workstation setups, hardware installations, and hands-on troubleshooting.This role includes core Tier 1 responsibilities such as:

  • Password resets and account management (cloud and on-premise domains)
  • User onboarding and offboarding
  • Desktop and laptop troubleshooting (Windows & macOS)
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace support
  • Basic Active Directory account support
  • Printer, peripheral, and connectivity issues

In addition to ticket-based support, you will assist with routine system monitoring. This includes reviewing alert dashboards, identifying potential issues, following established procedures, documenting findings, and escalating when needed. You will be trained on our monitoring tools and processes.Tier 1 support and proactive monitoring together help maintain operational stability for our clients.There is potential for transition to full-time based on performance and firm growth.
What You’ll Be Exposed ToAs you develop in the role, you will gain exposure to:

  • Endpoint security monitoring and remediation workflows
  • Cloud administration tasks
  • Network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLAN awareness)
  • Structured escalation and incident response processes

Strong performers will have opportunities to assist with higher-level infrastructure and security tasks over time.
Core Responsibilities

  • Respond to support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Reset passwords and manage user accounts (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory)
  • Provision and deprovision users
  • Troubleshoot Windows and macOS systems
  • Support email, collaboration platforms, and SaaS applications
  • Diagnose printer and connectivity issues
  • Perform workstation builds and basic hardware upgrades (memory, storage)
  • Assist with light networking equipment installations
  • Review monitoring alerts and dashboards daily
  • Follow documented procedures for alert response and escalation
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation
  • Ensure SLA adherence and proper ticket lifecycle management

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace preferred
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory concepts preferred
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset
  • Ability to stay organized and follow structured processes
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills

Physical & Work Requirements

  • In-office presence required (New York City)
  • Periodic travel to client sites within the NY Metro area
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to approximately 40 lbs)
  • Comfortable performing onsite hardware installations and upgrades
